Diamond Jubilee Mugs

Proposal
There has been a proposal to build another Wind Turbine
within the Parish, this time close to the main village, at
Beacon Hill which overlooks Tiny Meadows. A general meeting
is being held at the Methodist Chapel Hall on 2nd February
at 07:30pm all are welcome.

Planning Application
A planning
application for a 500 KW ( 50m to hub, 77m to tip) wind
turbine has been lodged by Mr M Quinn. The proposed site is
at Trevozah Cross, South Petherwin which is sited on the road
following past the Winds Of Change and on until you arrive
at a cross roads called, Trevozah Cross. The turbine will be
sited in the field to the right with twin gates for its
entrance.
The application number is
PA 11/ 10647 and the
planning officer is Adam Carlyon. Should you wish to make
any comments on this application then submit them on the

Clement Street,Truro, TR1 1DT.
The
application will be considered by the South Petherwin Parish
Council on the second Wednesday of February at the
Methodist Hall at 7.30 pm. The public are welcome to make

Community
shop project postponed!
Since the
question of the Village Shop was raised by its owners,
Darren and Sarah Hart, the South Petherwin Community Shop
Committee have been working hard to find a way to ensure the
continuing presence of a shop in the village. This small
dedicated group of people have devoted much time, money and
effort to finding a solution to protect this valuable
community asset.
They encountered
many difficulties, but the scheme seemed to be making
progress and the Plunkett Foundation were encouraging.
However the detailed financial position had been hard to
establish and this slowed the process down.
The committee have
now received a letter from the Harts, withdrawing their
offer to lease the shop to the project stating that they
were not confident that the necessary finances can be raised
by the deadline date and with this in mind they are having
to rethink their future plans.
In view of
this the community shop project has been put on ice and
money contributed by shareholders returned. It is hoped that
the work done will not be wasted. If the opportunity should
arise in the future to take the project forward, the
existing arrangements can be picked up again.
